Hello! Thank you for purchasing our at-home microbiome test. Here's how to complete it, step by step.
The gut microbiome test analyzes the composition of bacteria living in your intestine. It relies on high-throughput sequencing of specific regions of microbial DNA (particularly the 16S rRNA region) present in stool samples. This method identifies different bacterial families, genera, or species and measures their relative abundance.

The gut microbiome plays a key role in digestion, metabolism, immunity, inflammation, and the communication between the gut and the brain. Its composition varies from person to person, influenced by diet, lifestyle, physical activity, sleep, and stress.
Bacterial diversity is an indicator of the richness and resilience of the microbiome. In the scientific literature, greater diversity is often associated with better metabolic and inflammatory status (Lloyd-Price et al., Nature, 2016).
The balance between major bacterial families, some of which are known to be beneficial (e.g., butyrate producers) and others potentially associated with inflammation or metabolic stress (Shreiner et al., Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 2015).
The test provides a systemic view of this living ecosystem and its balance.
Sampling tube and swab (cotton swab) from Sampling.pro
Instructions
1 paper pouch
1 outer plastic packaging

After using the toilet, first wipe with toilet paper. Then collect a small amount of sample (about the size of a grain of rice) using the cotton swab. Mix the sample with the liquid in the tube, then seal the tube carefully.

Place the sample in the zippered pouch, then in the paper pouch.

Place the paper pouch in the plastic shipping packaging labeled 'EXEMPT HUMAN SPECIMEN'.

After activating your sample on my.biomes.world, you can download a prepaid shipping label. Drop off the package at your nearest drop-off point.

It highlights: the abundance of key bacterial groups, the microbiome's capacity to produce important molecules (such as butyrate), markers related to inflammation, intestinal permeability, or energy efficiency, based on parameters studied in scientific literature.

Based on the profile, results may point towards: dietary diversification, increasing certain types of fiber, introducing probiotics or fermented foods, lifestyle adjustments (sleep, stress, physical activity).

Typically, 3 weeks after receiving your sample, your lab results will be available on my.biomes.world. Upload them to app.lucis.life so we can integrate them into your wellness guidance.
